“I have been SO impressed with everyone at American Family Day. Every person I’ve been in contact with has been professional and incredibly friendly. Wow. Why can’t everything be like this? Thank you so much for the positive experience. It’s been a pleasure working with you. If you ever need help please don’t hesitate to ask. We would truly enjoy an opportunity to work with an organization like yours again.
Finest regards always…” – Dean, College Instructor
“We have partnered with AFD on 3 occasions now and each has been a very enjoyable and profitable experience. Basically, you provide the workforce in the numbers and at the times they say, and when the work is done, everyone goes home and you have a check in the mail a week later. The usual pay is $1200 but that depends on the size of the picnic and how much setup and teardown is involved.
Our only LIMFAC is the number of adults I can muster. The more the better because you have certain areas that you need adult supervision: food serving, bingo, picnic games and inflatables. Our cadets work well, but after 6 hours or so, they begin to fade and get lazy. The adults keep them on their toes.
A basic weekend for us would be Friday setup from 1700-1900 with about 15 people. On Saturday, we would work from 0800-1600 with approx 30 people. We would be responsible for all setup, teardown and would not leave until everything is on the truck.
One last thought — AFD knows their job. If you get Bill and his son, they are a two-man wrecking crew. You’ll be amazed at how much stuff they pack up on their truck and how well-organized they are. What my NCO and I really like about it is that we show up, we work, we go home and we get paid. No supplies to buy or stuff to sell. They are the only fundraiser we do, and I’ve been in the JROTC and Band Booster fund-raising business for 17 years now. These folks are great and I think you’ll enjoy working with them.” – Steve, LtC, USAF-Ret.
“It was truly a pleasure working with your company and team. You have some enthusiastic leaders and we greatly appreciated your detailed organization. Great job!” – Randy P., Youth Minister
“We thoroughly enjoyed assisting you in this project and thank you for the opportunity to do so. We had a record number of Band Boosters and band members turn out, so we, too, were very pleased with the outcome of the day.” – Linda B., Treasurer
“You were so organized and good at your jobs that it made it easy for us to do ours…an enjoyable and relaxing day of fun without worrying about the details of how to feed 1500 people!” – Becky B., Booster Club
“We thank you for giving us the opportunity to earn money for our missions endeavor; and we thank you, also, for giving us the opportunity to work with “4-Star” people. If we could possibly have figured out a legal way, we would have kidnapped them and kept them as our very own!” – Patsy J.
“We spent some of the money that we earned towards a Youth Trip to Atlanta, Georgia- Tour of the Underground and a Braves Baseball Game!! Most of the youth had NEVER been to Atlanta! We had a BLAST!” – Kim D., Youth Director
